A Happy Camper!

We decided to take Henry on his first camping trip last weekend and thought it was best to stay close to home in case we needed to make a run for it! Thus, Lake Wenatchee near Leavenworth welcomed us with open arms (or open mouths...the mosquitoes were rampant!) On our way to the lake we decided to swing by Costco to buy a bigger tent - aka the Family Dome! How else would we fit two dogs, an air matress and a pack n' play in a small 4 person tent? Henry was a great sport the entire trip, from the two hour car ride to sleeping in a tent. Not to mention taking in all of nature including the 6 dogs that were a part of our camping group. Truly a happy camper! Thanks Brian and the gang for inviting us along - we had a great time! I think there just might be another camping trip in store for us soon...

Hooray! The Boat is Fixed!

On Friday we took the boat out on Lake Washington for its first spin of the season. It's been a frustrating and expensive journey to get to this point, but once we were out on the water with the wind blowing our hair (okay, my hair) and the waves crashing against the bow, it was strangely worth it. This was Henry's first time out boating, out of the womb. He had fun boating last summer en utero :) His life jacket unfortunately consumed his entire being. But safety first! Overall, Henry had a fun sitting in mommy's lap and got to hold onto daddy's fishing pole. It was a successful excursion and we're looking forward to more warm days this summer where we can enjoy the heat on the lake and in the boat!

I'm ready Daddy! Hit it!

Riding the waves with Mama.

Fishing with Papa.

This is the life!

First day out in the boat this season.

On Thursday, we grabbed dinner at Spuds with Nana and the Smedbergs and then ate our grub on the Kirkland waterfront. It was a gorgeous evening, warm and sunny! Thanks Paul and Marj for inviting us!
I love my Nana!

A Day At the Beach!

What a gorgeous weekend! We visited Golden Gardens today for some fun in the sun. Henry had fun watching the pretty ladies sunbathe in their bikinis, especially the pretty lady with us - Tiffany =) He was a good sport and thanks to the beach umbrella he enjoyed the warmth without the UV rays - thanks Nana & Patches for letting us borrow it! We played with toys, read books and magazines. He impressed the other beach goers with his quiet demeanor becasue they commented on what a good baby he was. I think we'll definitely go back!

Da-Da-Da-Da....

First came Mmmm Ma-Ma! Then came Da-Da-Da-Da Da-Da! It happened on Easter Sunday as we were sitting around the breakfast table with the Ross & Gordon families. Auntie Amy was holding Henry who happened to be facing Daddy. Henry started to babble and then at the end of his conversation, we heard a distinct "Da-Da!" Our little boy is growing up so quick before our eyes and before we know it he will be talking a mile a minute.

Solid Foods, Finally!

We started introducing solids to Henry when he was six months old. First was rice cereal which after the initial bite was met with disgust and gagging. Next up was bananas and then apple sauce...neither had a lasting effect. Over the course of the past month we have been introducing a variety of foods and we could barely get past one bite. THEN, today, for some unknown reason, Henry decided he liked solid foods! What was the trick? A dash of persistence, a smidge of patience and a jar of oatmeal, banana, peaches blend! Vuala! A half jar of baby food was consumed! We were so excited and had to capture this monumental moment on video...see below.

Rubber Ducky, You're the One!

Henry LOVES bath time and especially his rubber ducky. He kicks his feet and splashes water all around soaking me and the floor in front of the tub. During his last bath he placed his ducky in his mouth, bit the tail and let go. All that was left was a smiling boy with this orange ducky sticking out of his mouth. I couldn't resist and had to caputre this one...too cute!
