Easter, Playtime and Race Day!

There is so much to catch up on!!!! My, how time flies! Henry is learning new things each day and makes us smile constantly. He is such a joy when he's happy and can be quite the handful when he's not :) To his credit, ear infections are no fun and he's been a trooper through yet another one. Henry has started lining his cars up in a row when he plays, which to his accountant mommy makes her heart swoon. Let's hope he likes his room this neat and orderly in the future! He also loves pushing anything with wheels around the house, including mommy's suitcase. Then there's the grocery cart which he insists on helping push to the parking lot. Daddy says he'll make a great mailroom attendant with these skills he's building. Henry's favorite movie is "Cars" which we must watch at least once a week now, sometimes more. He has been doing great at daycare and his teachers all love him. He's quite the talker and his vocabulary has multiplied tenfold. We still take him to the Little Gym on Saturdays to tumble with friends. He eats pretty well with a spoon and fork now although it makes quite the mess. His favorite foods are chicken, cantelope, peaches/pears, applesauce, green beans and olives. Of course he'll snack on any type of cracker happily.

For Easter, we had a mini egg hunt for Henry inside the house. We then went to church with Rachel's family and headed over to the Gordon's for yummy food. Overall, it was a fantastic day!

Henry's Easter basket filled with cars and garden tools. The candy was just for show - mommy and daddy got to enjoy those :)

Aunt Amy and Uncle Brian got Henry a large fluffy chic for Easter. He had fun running around the house with it and giving it cuddles.

Peek-a-boo!

I love you Chick-a-dee!

Aunt Amy and Uncle Brian live across the street from a park - we had fun playing on all the toys!

My first time in a swing!

Fun on the big toy!
Trying on daddy's shoes! They'll fit before we know it!

Daddy reading to Henry after bath and before bedtime.

I love my Cars books!

Silly Henry playing in the laundry basket.

Saturday mornings Henry gets to watch cartoons. His favorites are Sid the Science Kid, Super Reader and Dinosaur Train. We caught him chillin' on the ottoman watching TV...super cute!

Here he is from the other perspective watching his cartoons.

Henry lining up his cars while he plays. Making his own train!

At Aunt Amy's baby shower he did the same thing with his cars showing off to all the guests.

Henry found the bottle of M&M's and thought he'd try a taste :)

The other adorable thing Henry has been doing lately is stacking his blocks to make a tower. He then pushes the tower over and laughs. We found him in his room by himself playing with his blocks.

Getting ready to build the tower again!

Mommy was a team captain for the annual Beat the Bridge race to beat juvenile diabetes. Henry participated in the Diaper Derby arranged by age - Henry was in the walkers to 2yrs group. He nearly got first place, but decided at the finish line to turn back and see if mommy was still watching!
Here's Henry at the start of the race wearing his yellow crocs!
Look at Henry run!

Henry with his buddy Jackson after the race congratulating each other.

After the race helping to take down the course...

Henry had fun playing with all the orange cones after the race! He's quite comfortable on the football field!

Mama, Henry, Julie, Jackson and Beth! What great team we had - we raised nearly $1,500!!!!

Welcome to the Club!

Today is a BIG day for the Ross family! Not only is daddy starting his first day at a new job, but Henry is going to full-time day care (aka "The Club"). We thought "the club" sounded much better than day care :) Or perhaps it's a slight form a denial. In any event, Henry was ready to start the day wearing his new Cars jacket (thanks Chase!) and yellow crocs. This kid is going to be a hit!

On my way to The Club!

Kinda sleepy mommy - this is early for me!

Look! They have cars here too! I'm gonna like it here!

Bye-bye Curls!!!

So, this actually happened over a month ago, but we have been slow to update our blog. The night before Valentines Day, we make a spur of the moment decision to give Henry his FIRST hair cut! Now, this is something that has been coming for at least 4 months, and finally mommy agreed that it was time to let Henry grow up :) He was such a good boy! We took him to the salon by our house where Brad and I both get our hair cut by the same person, Lily. It is amazing how he went from baby to boy in seconds! The rest of the weekend we kept staring at the new boy we brought home with us from the salon. Isn't he just handsome!!! (Oh, yeah, please ignore the fat lip and scratch on his forehead...one of the dogs knocked him over that morning -- eek!)

Curls galore!

This ain't so bad!

Bangs are for girls :)

I'm a big boy now!

Box Car Boy

This kid has got imagination! He crawled right into a box and started making "vroom, vroom" sounds. So we helped the car move by pulling him around on the rug. Who needs to buy toys from the store when every day items around the house can transition into fun toys?!?!

Henry also started to learn to shut his eyes for fun when mommy took pictures. He's such a crack up!

Holiday Update

We had a wonderful Christmas filled with family, presents and lots of food! Just as we anticipated, Henry officially became a walker by Christmas! And he hasn't stopped running about ever since.

Santa visited our house Christmas Day and Henry wasn't a fan of the man in the red suit. But after seeing the present santa pulled out of the bag for him, he cheered up.

Henry also received a rather large, assembled gift from Santa since he was such a good boy this year - a motorized quad! Yes, it moves and Henry has figured out the little red button makes the big wheels move forward. However, he gets constantly stuck since there is no reverse. To mitigate this, we are quickly teaching him how to steer :)

Here he is with is sippy cup in place in case he gets thirsty on his ride.

Henry's first fat lip :(
